Cartoon Nail Designs.

Cartoon nail designs look so cute, so I thought I would give them a go on my nail wheel. My nails are not looking their best at the moment, I cut them all down as when I was ill they all started breaking so off they went, plus the nail wheel is so much easier to do designs on and I really enjoyed doing them.
I'm quite impressed with how they turned out, except for the Pikachu one, he looks a little creepy. Apart from that, not too shabby.

What do you think? Do you know what they all are supposed to be?

Pink Glitter Nails #2

Using two Color Club polishes & Barry M - Pink Iridescent.
I thought I would do a cute glittery look. Manly because now I'm working, my nails take a battering and glitter polish is such a good way to keep polish on longer cause of how strong it is. So here we are, using a coat of the lighter Color Club polishes and two coats of the darker Color Club pink. Then using just one coat of the Barry M - Pink Iridescent. I think they turned out quite nice.

Easter Nail Designs.

Happy Easter! Hope you've all had a lovely bank holiday.
I recently brought some nail wheels from Amazon - 10 for £1.66 - what a bargain! Although they are quite flimsy if you're looking for a sturdy nail wheel. But I thought I'd have a go at some Easter nail designs, some turning out better than others. So after spending all day watching Disney films and choking on nail polish fumes I finished my Easter designs. Hope you like.

How To Prevent Your Nails From Chipping.

After spending hours (sometimes) you finally finish your new nail look, the next morning you wake up to find a chip. Most annoying thing ever! I decided to do a little research on how to prevent nail polish from chipping so easily and thought I'd share this with you. Some of the things seem so simple, yet so simple they can slip the mind.

Number 1 - Clean those hands.
- Whenever you start to paint your nails, make sure they are clean and dry. Having dirt and natural oils on your nails can mess with the polish staying on your nails which can add to the chipping or discolouration. So make sure you firstly remove your old nail polish with a good quality nail polish remover. Then wash your hands with normal soap and water to remove any dirt. Pat dry really well so your nails are dry.

Number 2 - Base coat.
- Always start your nails with a thin layer of a base coat to prep your nails. The base coat provides a nice smooth surface for the polish to lie on. Leave the base coat for a good 15 minutes, just to make sure it is completely dry before putting on your colour.

Number 3 - Thin coats.
- Now when applying your chosen polish, think thin. Apply a thin, light coat of polish first as when you apply big thick coats, it never gets time to dry properly and can also cause air bubbles, so thinner is always better in this case.

Number 4 - Extra time for the tips.
- When painting your nails, you may want to apply the polish a little thicker on the tips after all the tips of our nails get the most wear and tear throughout the day. Even curving the polish under your nail can make your polish stay on longer, all though can look a little messy.

Number 5 - Glitter and shimmer.
- Now of course you're not going to want to use a glitter or a shimmer polish all the time, but have you noticed how hard they are to remove? They are also great to stop your nails from chipping.

Number 6 - Top coat.
- Remember thinner is better when it comes to polish and this applies to the top coat too and remember to put a little extra on those tips.

Quick tips.
- Be patient with drying time. Leave each coat at least 15 minutes.
- Moisturise your hands and cuticles. Dry cuticles won't help your polish to stay on.
- Purchase a good quality base and top coat.
- Keeping your nail polish in the fridge can prevent chipping.
- Most importantly, don't rush!

HyperGel Pinstripe Nails.

My sister asked me to paint my nails in the HyperGel Turquoise Gloss so she could take some photo's for her blog. So I put Breaking Bad on and after two episodes I had finished this pinstripe look.
So simple and such an easy look to do. After painting my nails in the HyperGel polish, I applied the stripes with the Models Own White Nail Art Pen. On the one nail I just added a top coat of the Topshop Epiphany, then finished with a clear top coat.

Yellow Glitter Nails...

Using No7 - Twinkle Glitter and Barry M - Lemon.
As I said in my Spring Nail Polishes post I will be doing a post on the few favourite polishes I chose within the next few weeks, the first being Barry M - Lemon. I love this colour for spring. Very sheer so you need a few coats for it to look like the proper colour it's supposed to be, in the end I think I did three coats. I then used the No7 - Twinkle Glitter to make it a little more jazzy. :)

Spring Nail Polishes.

Spring is here, made it's lovely way into 2014 with really strong winds & horrible rain that keeps coming and going... But it's here in true British style. I thought I'd pick out a few of the polishes I will be using this spring so stay tuned for a few nails designs using them. Starting with the Rimmel - Too cool to tango, I think this is a great sky blue colour for doing those springy designs. Barry M -Lemon, I'm actually wearing this right now and will have a post up tomorrow showing off my yellow sparkly nails. Barry M - Papaya, I love this, it's a little darker than the other colours but so nice and leaves a lovely finish. Barry M - Greenberry, One of my favourite polishes, I love bright colours so this defiantly fits the bill for me and also one of my favourite colours anyway so an all round winner. Lastly, Essie - To buy or not to buy, Such a pretty colour, so sweet and girly. Will defiantly be using this one soon.

The luck of the Irish. St Patrick's Day Nails.

This called for a nail design of course and at a great time because I'm loving green at the moment. It's weird to think that the original colour associated with St Patrick's day was blue, right? But here we are, in Celebration of Saint Patrick wearing green.

Using - Models Own Black & White nail art pens, Barry M - Green Berry, Spring Green, White and Gold Foil, Model's Own - Dancing Queen and 2 various Color Club polishes.

Starting with the little finger, I applied the Green Berry. Once dry I used a dotting tool to apply Spring Green and Gold Foil. The ring finger I applied white and then added a clover. Using a Color Club polish on the middle finger, once dry I used an art pen to create the black thick line and then added the buckle with the Gold Foil polish using a nail art brush. The index finger was easy peasy, painted the nail white, then once dry added the Models Own Dancing Queen over the top. Now the thumb, I'm not too happy with, I used a Color Club polish, then once dry drew on the white and black lines using the Models Own nail art pens.
I know not the best designs, but worth a try :)

Models Own HyperGel Turquiose Gloss Review.

I love Models Own anyway so this isn't a hard review for me to do, it's my first review so I suppose I had to make it an easy one, right?
This colour is so pretty and it's made me want to buy more of the HyperGel polishes now, it looks so shiny, lovely colour and great to apply. A lot of the Models Own polishes had the big chunky brush to apply it but this one has one of the thinner brushes so it's easier to apply onto the little finger without any going on to your hand. I love it & I've had a lot of compliments on it, which is always nice :)
Because it's such a lovely Spring colour, I thought I'd do a little design on it too. Plus I get bored, so this took up an hour or so. Using the Barry M - White, nail dotting tools and some nail tape. I came up with this little design just to complete the look.

Spring Flower Nails.

Using - Barry M - Lemon, Barry M - White, Urban Outfitters UO Basics in Purple, Color Club - Clear.

I started my nails with a base coat, once dry I added two coats of the yellow. Using a small nail art brush I added the petals to my flower design and then using the same brush (once I'd cleaned it) I applied white dots into the middle of my petals. I then finished with a top coat.

I first did a base coat of the Color Club clear polish. Once dry I put on two coats of the Essie colour and waited until dry. What A Little Pickle

Nail Polish Spring 2014 Wishlist.

All the new Spring nail polishes are out or soon to be coming out and they all look so good! Some of these polishes I want are old but most of them are new and are ready to be mine. I've been trying to save more money then usual (my usual savings consists of nothing so I'm doing pretty well) to spend on new nail products and to get some of the ones I have wanted for a while but haven't got round to buying. (due to my bad saving habits)
Some of the few products I'm craving for at the moment are;

The Essie Spring 2014 Collection - All of them look so nice and pretty. Really want to get my hands on all of them, I think the colours Essie come up with are so great and I love their individual names. Depending on where you go, you can buy these polishes for around £8 each.
Especially loving the Hide & Go ChicFashion Playground and Style Hunter.

Barry M Silk Collection - Now obviously this little lot would be on this list. They are so different, I haven't seen a product like this before and I'd love to try them out for myself. These polishes are around £4.
Firsts on my list would be the BlossomMeadow and Pearl

China Glaze Off Shore Collection - Now I'm not sure if these are already out, but I know they are available to pre-order off Nail Polish Direct. There are the two different collections to buy or you can purchase the nail polishes separately of course. The two collections are Stoaked To Be Soaked and my favourite out the two Dune Our Thing. The collections are £29.99 each or the individual polishes are around the £5 mark - If you can find them cheap.
My individual favourites are Wait N SeaShore EnuffDune Our Thing and If In Doubt, Surf It Out

Models Own HyperGel - Again another new set of polishes you thought you'd find on this list, right? These look great on swatches I have seen on other blogs and I want to get my hands on them and try them out for myself. Now I wouldn't get all of them because I think some of the shades look a little samey as other products but I would get a few. These come in at £5 each.
The ones I would go out and buy are White LightCoral Glaze, Lilac SheenCornflower Gleam and Red Lustre

Models Own Artstix Nail Polish Duo - I have only recently found out about these and I love the idea, they look so simple to use and would be great little things to take away with you on trips or on holiday. There are twelve different duo's so there's quite a selection to choose from.
My favourite duo's that I love are Blue Spray, Blibble, Jade Flakes, Snow Mix and Utopia Ocean.

Models Own Ice Neon Collection - Now I have loved these for a while and I own none of them! So now is the time for them to become mine. £5 each.
Favourites - Pukka Purple and Pink Punch.

Would you recommend any other new nail products I've missed?

Red and white nails.

Using - Collection 2000 - Scandal, Barry M - White, Models Own nail art pen.

Firstly I painted my thumb, middle and ring finger white and the other two nails red, giving all nails two coats. When dry I sectioned off the top and bottom of the nail with tape. I painted the tip of the nail with the opposite colour. When dry, I used the Models Own black art pen to line the change of the colours and to the index finger I added a very straight bow. I then finished this look with a the Color Club top coat.
A little messy due to the fact the polish wasn't completely dry before putting the tape on, but I'm still learning. :)

Blue and Pink...

Using - Barry M - Cobalt blue, Model's own black nail art pen, Barry M - Limited Edition Pink.

First I started off painting two nails blue and three nails pink. The middle finger I sectioned off with tape so I could paint the other half of the nail with the blue. I used the Models Own black nail art pen to draw a line and to dot the middle finger. I finished with a top coat.
