Cartoon Nail Designs.

Cartoon nail designs look so cute, so I thought I would give them a go on my nail wheel. My nails are not looking their best at the moment, I cut them all down as when I was ill they all started breaking so off they went, plus the nail wheel is so much easier to do designs on and I really enjoyed doing them.
I'm quite impressed with how they turned out, except for the Pikachu one, he looks a little creepy. Apart from that, not too shabby.

What do you think? Do you know what they all are supposed to be?

The luck of the Irish. St Patrick's Day Nails.

This called for a nail design of course and at a great time because I'm loving green at the moment. It's weird to think that the original colour associated with St Patrick's day was blue, right? But here we are, in Celebration of Saint Patrick wearing green.

Using - Models Own Black & White nail art pens, Barry M - Green Berry, Spring Green, White and Gold Foil, Model's Own - Dancing Queen and 2 various Color Club polishes.

Starting with the little finger, I applied the Green Berry. Once dry I used a dotting tool to apply Spring Green and Gold Foil. The ring finger I applied white and then added a clover. Using a Color Club polish on the middle finger, once dry I used an art pen to create the black thick line and then added the buckle with the Gold Foil polish using a nail art brush. The index finger was easy peasy, painted the nail white, then once dry added the Models Own Dancing Queen over the top. Now the thumb, I'm not too happy with, I used a Color Club polish, then once dry drew on the white and black lines using the Models Own nail art pens.
I know not the best designs, but worth a try :)

Models Own HyperGel Turquiose Gloss Review.

I love Models Own anyway so this isn't a hard review for me to do, it's my first review so I suppose I had to make it an easy one, right?
This colour is so pretty and it's made me want to buy more of the HyperGel polishes now, it looks so shiny, lovely colour and great to apply. A lot of the Models Own polishes had the big chunky brush to apply it but this one has one of the thinner brushes so it's easier to apply onto the little finger without any going on to your hand. I love it & I've had a lot of compliments on it, which is always nice :)
Because it's such a lovely Spring colour, I thought I'd do a little design on it too. Plus I get bored, so this took up an hour or so. Using the Barry M - White, nail dotting tools and some nail tape. I came up with this little design just to complete the look.

Spring Flower Nails.

Using - Barry M - Lemon, Barry M - White, Urban Outfitters UO Basics in Purple, Color Club - Clear.

I started my nails with a base coat, once dry I added two coats of the yellow. Using a small nail art brush I added the petals to my flower design and then using the same brush (once I'd cleaned it) I applied white dots into the middle of my petals. I then finished with a top coat.

Nail Polish Spring 2014 Wishlist.

All the new Spring nail polishes are out or soon to be coming out and they all look so good! Some of these polishes I want are old but most of them are new and are ready to be mine. I've been trying to save more money then usual (my usual savings consists of nothing so I'm doing pretty well) to spend on new nail products and to get some of the ones I have wanted for a while but haven't got round to buying. (due to my bad saving habits)
Some of the few products I'm craving for at the moment are;

The Essie Spring 2014 Collection - All of them look so nice and pretty. Really want to get my hands on all of them, I think the colours Essie come up with are so great and I love their individual names. Depending on where you go, you can buy these polishes for around £8 each.
Especially loving the Hide & Go ChicFashion Playground and Style Hunter.

Barry M Silk Collection - Now obviously this little lot would be on this list. They are so different, I haven't seen a product like this before and I'd love to try them out for myself. These polishes are around £4.
Firsts on my list would be the BlossomMeadow and Pearl

China Glaze Off Shore Collection - Now I'm not sure if these are already out, but I know they are available to pre-order off Nail Polish Direct. There are the two different collections to buy or you can purchase the nail polishes separately of course. The two collections are Stoaked To Be Soaked and my favourite out the two Dune Our Thing. The collections are £29.99 each or the individual polishes are around the £5 mark - If you can find them cheap.
My individual favourites are Wait N SeaShore EnuffDune Our Thing and If In Doubt, Surf It Out

Models Own HyperGel - Again another new set of polishes you thought you'd find on this list, right? These look great on swatches I have seen on other blogs and I want to get my hands on them and try them out for myself. Now I wouldn't get all of them because I think some of the shades look a little samey as other products but I would get a few. These come in at £5 each.
The ones I would go out and buy are White LightCoral Glaze, Lilac SheenCornflower Gleam and Red Lustre

Models Own Artstix Nail Polish Duo - I have only recently found out about these and I love the idea, they look so simple to use and would be great little things to take away with you on trips or on holiday. There are twelve different duo's so there's quite a selection to choose from.
My favourite duo's that I love are Blue Spray, Blibble, Jade Flakes, Snow Mix and Utopia Ocean.

Models Own Ice Neon Collection - Now I have loved these for a while and I own none of them! So now is the time for them to become mine. £5 each.
Favourites - Pukka Purple and Pink Punch.

Would you recommend any other new nail products I've missed?

Red and white nails.

Using - Collection 2000 - Scandal, Barry M - White, Models Own nail art pen.

Firstly I painted my thumb, middle and ring finger white and the other two nails red, giving all nails two coats. When dry I sectioned off the top and bottom of the nail with tape. I painted the tip of the nail with the opposite colour. When dry, I used the Models Own black art pen to line the change of the colours and to the index finger I added a very straight bow. I then finished this look with a the Color Club top coat.
A little messy due to the fact the polish wasn't completely dry before putting the tape on, but I'm still learning. :)

Blue and Pink...

Using - Barry M - Cobalt blue, Model's own black nail art pen, Barry M - Limited Edition Pink.

First I started off painting two nails blue and three nails pink. The middle finger I sectioned off with tape so I could paint the other half of the nail with the blue. I used the Models Own black nail art pen to draw a line and to dot the middle finger. I finished with a top coat.

    Winnie the Pooh inspired nails.

When I was only a young'un Winnie the Pooh was my favourite thing in the whole wide world. He made me a very happy little person so I thought I would pay a tribute to my idol and do some Winnie the Pooh inspired nails...

     Image from Google.
    • Starting with covering the nails in a base coat and leaving them to dry.
    • Paint little finger a pale pink. Ring finger - a purpley blue. Middle finger - yellow. Index finger - a nude or very pale brown. Thumb - a sky blue. Leave to dry.

Nail polishes used - Color Club - 39. Collection 2000 - BMX Bandit.
     W7 - First class. Barry M - Nude. Color Club - 51.
    • Once nails are dry and had second coat if needed. Start off by using either a darker pink or a light purple to add stripes to the little finger nail to look like Piglet's stomach.
    • On the ring finger, I firstly used a very pale pink to draw on a bow. Then outlined it with a black nail art pen to show off Eeyore's lovely tail.
    • Using tape, I sectioned off the top and bottom of the nail to leave the middle exposed on my middle finger. I painted the middle red and removed the tape slowly and carefully whilst the polish was still wet. Now we have Winnie the Pooh's belly.
    • I then used an orange on my index finger, just on the two sides of the nail. Once dry I used a black nail art pen to draw some little stripes. To look like Tigger's belly.
    • Using the black nail art pen again, drawing on a little bumble bee & some flying lines. Then leave all to dry for a good amount of time.
    • Lastly finish with a top coat and leave to dry.
Polishes used for the second part. Models Own - Dinky Pinky. Color Club - 42. Barry M - Bright Red. Essie - Orange, It's Obvious.

Models Own Black Nail Art pen was used for all black parts.

Not the greatest attempt at nail art, but for my first go. Not too shabby. Except for my stripey bumblebee who's stripes molded together for him to become a fly.
Let me know what you think :)

    DIY Nail Art Brushes.

Nail art can be so difficult, and especially if you haven't got the right tools to use, making your own nail art brushes is a solution and it is relatively easy to do. All you need is...

    • Unwanted nail polish.
    • Nail polish remover.
    • Scissors.
    • Cotton Wool or a cloth.

    Lets get started!!

    • Firstly, take your empty nail polish bottle (or empty out contents) and drain as much nail polish as possible.
    • Fill your empty nail polish bottle with nail polish remover. (Best to buy a cheap £1 bottle for this)
    • Put the lid back on the bottle, give a good shake and leave for around 5-10 minutes to let the polish remover do its work and remove the nail polish from the applicator.
    • Take lid off and give it a wipe over with your cotton wool.
    • If when you're wiping your brushes and any colour of the polish comes off you may want to keep dipping the end of the applicator in the polish remover and wiping, until cotton wool is clear.
    • Take your scissors and cut your brush into the thickness and shape you want your nail art brushes to be. Cut off any rouge bristles so your brush is smooth to use.
    • Again dip the brushes into the nail polish and dry off.

Finished product. For nice small simple lines :)

Comic Relief. Red Nose Day Nails.

As i was reading through blogs yesterday, i found a cute post by Lizzie at Lizzie's Blog about Red Nose Day and a nail design she did. You can read this post here.
So i thought i would do my own little design for this lovely day in the UK.

Bit of a pointer before i start, i know some of the photo's below are not in great focus. I was just getting used to the camera i am using now. Thank you o'sister of mine! But now i think i have the hang of it.

    Nail colours i used are:
    Barry M - Bright Red
    Wetnwild - French Manicure White
    Collection2000 - Black
    Color Club - Top Coat

So i started off painting every finger nail red apart from my ring finger on both hands.

On one hand i dotted white on my pointing finger (i know this is not the official name for this finger, but it sounds right to me ha) I also painted a big red blob on my ring finger.

On the other hand i dotted my thumb with black spots and dotted my ring finger with white nail varnish.

I then dotted on two small white circles (they were circles until i smudged the one, now i don't know what shape they are) and then two tiny black dots. Isn't it cute? :)

I also used the most famous blogging nail design tools around. Brought off Amazon.co.uk

Remember you can get involved and donate by following this link. Thank you.

Hope you liked them as they were fun but a pain to do.
